The first day of the “Hypertension and Diabetes Awareness Event” planned within the scope of May 14 Pharmacy Day, in collaboration with Fırat University Faculty of Pharmacy and the Turkish Pharmacists Association 23rd Regional Elazığ Pharmacists Chamber, was held on May 15, 2025, at Elysium AVM.

This event, prioritizing public health, aimed to increase public health literacy and raise awareness about hypertension and diabetes. During the day-long event, free blood pressure and blood sugar measurements were administered to residents. Faculty members and students from Fırat University's Faculty of Pharmacy provided health counseling and informational materials.

The event, which attracted considerable attention from shopping mall visitors, also aimed to raise public awareness of these diseases by distributing informative brochures. The awareness campaign, organized under the slogan "Your pharmacist is always with you for your health," also provided valuable field experience for pharmacy students who interact directly with the public.

The event will continue on May 16th. At Fırat University's Faculty of Pharmacy, we believe that such social responsibility activities contribute both to society and significantly contribute to the professional development of our students.
