The Faculty of Pharmacy, the newest faculty of Fırat University, one of the research universities with a deep-rooted history in our country and serving in the academic field since 1975, was established by the Presidential Decree No. 5259 dated 07 March 2022, published in the Official Gazette No. 31772 dated 08 March 2022, and started education as of the 2023-2024 Academic Year.

Education

In order to ensure quality and standardization in undergraduate pharmacy education, the curriculum was prepared in accordance with the "National Pharmacy Core Education Program" accepted by YÖK in 2015.

Internship

Internships begin in the summer after the fourth semester, and there are four mandatory internships: three summer internships and one mid-term internship in the fifth year. Internships can be completed in community pharmacies, hospital pharmacies, or industrial settings.

Graduation Project

Students graduate with a master's degree by preparing a Graduation Project in the 9th and 10th semesters as part of the compulsory courses.

Graduation

At the end of the five-year undergraduate education, in order to graduate from bachelor's and master's degrees, students who must successfully complete 300 ECTS from compulsory and elective theoretical and practical courses, a minimum of 120 days of compulsory internship, and a graduation project to be carried out in the 5th year are entitled to receive a pharmacist diploma.

Job opportunities

Graduates of the Faculty of Pharmacy have the opportunity to work in a wide variety of fields, including private pharmacy, public and private hospital pharmacies, the pharmaceutical industry, the cosmetics industry, pharmaceutical warehouses, as academics in Pharmacy Faculties, R&D centers, public institutions such as the Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (TİTCK) and the Social Security Institution (SGK), forensic medicine and analysis laboratories, drug and poison centers, and as specialist pharmacists in hospitals in the fields of clinical pharmacy and phytopharmacy.
