Program Content
Fırat University Faculty of Pharmacy was established by Presidential Decree No. 5259 dated March 7, 2022, and published in the Official Gazette No. 31772 dated March 8, 2022. The language of instruction is Turkish. The annual quota is 51 students. The minimum requirements and general principles determined in accordance with the Core Education Program (CEP) for the commencement and continuation of education and training in Pharmacy Programs are followed in the educational programming.
Fırat University Faculty of Pharmacy aims to train qualified pharmacists who are experts in their fields, capable of assuming duties and responsibilities at every stage of the drug research, development, and patient delivery processes, who contribute to science at universal standards, who aim for lifelong learning, who make sound decisions, who communicate effectively, who are educators, researchers, and entrepreneurs, who contribute to public health, who are internationally recognized, and who are sought after in every field of pharmacy.
A multidisciplinary curriculum has been designed, focusing on the discovery, production, control, and marketing processes of natural and synthetic drugs, and aligned with patient-centered pharmaceutical care. The program aims to provide students with practical skills, and professional internships are planned for students in pharmacies, hospitals, and pharmaceutical companies. The curriculum covers the basic functions of pharmacy, as well as the current roles of the pharmacy profession, and is structured with mandatory and elective theoretical courses, laboratory, and internships. Education and training are conducted by a young, dynamic, and strong academic staff, including one Professor, nine Assistant Professors, and seven Research Assistants, and research activities are conducted at national and international levels.

It has undertaken the duty of educating individuals who are qualified in the field of education and research, prioritize scientific and ethical values, continuously improve/renew themselves in personal and professional areas, have a sense of social responsibility, and can undertake effective duties and responsibilities at every stage of the drug research, development and delivery processes, and to contribute to the development of our country by producing science and technology at national and international levels.

Our vision is to be a faculty that pioneers change and development in the fields of education, research, technology and community service, that provides education by using the knowledge of the times and the expectations and experiences of powerful stakeholders in the light of the vocational education experiences of our country and the world, that uses current innovative knowledge and experience for the benefit of society, and that is respected in the production of knowledge and technology in scientific studies.
Degree Earned
Students who successfully complete the Faculty of Pharmacy curriculum and meet the program qualifications are awarded the title of "PHARMACIST" and graduate with a bachelor's or master's degree in pharmacy.
Admission Requirements
Candidates with placement scores below those of candidates ranked 100,000th in the program's placement score type (SAY) on the centralized exam administered by ÖSYM will not be placed in the pharmacy program. According to Law No. 6197 on Pharmacists and Pharmacies and the regulations related to this Law, individuals who are blind in both eyes or who have an incurable disease that prevents them from practicing their profession are not eligible to practice pharmacy. Proficient use of hands and fingers is essential for successful completion of the program.
Transition to the Upper Level
Graduates of the Faculty of Pharmacy can pursue graduate programs (master's and doctoral) depending on admission requirements. They can continue their education in their specialty areas through the Pharmacy Specialization Exam (EUS).
Graduation Requirements
To graduate, students must successfully complete all 227 National Credits and 300 ECTS credits. A minimum GPA of 2.00 out of 4.00 is required for graduation. Attendance is required for at least 70% of theoretical courses and 80% of laboratory courses. Additionally, students must successfully complete a total of 120 days of compulsory internship and a graduation project in the 9th and 10th semesters.
Graduate Employment Opportunities
Graduates of the Faculty of Pharmacy have the opportunity to work in a wide variety of fields, including community pharmacies, public and private hospital pharmacies, the pharmaceutical industry, the cosmetics industry, pharmaceutical warehouses, provincial health directorates affiliated with the Ministry of Health, public institutions such as the Social Security Institution (SGK) and the Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (TİTCK), the Turkish Pharmacists Association (TEB) and chambers of pharmacists, forensic medicine and analysis laboratories, drug and poison research centers, research and development (R&D) centers, clinical research laboratories, universities, specialization programs, and clinical pharmacy and phytopharmacy in hospitals.
