As part of Pharmacy Day, May 14th, Fırat University's Faculty of Pharmacy organized the "Career Day" event, featuring rich sessions designed to enhance students' professional vision. This special day, which coincided with Fırat University's 50th anniversary, brought together academics, students, and industry representatives.
The event, following a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem, featured a presentation by Prof. Dr. Canan Hasçiçek, a faculty member in the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology at Ankara University's Faculty of Pharmacy. Prof. Dr. Hasçiçek, known for her pioneering work in fields such as nano and micro drug delivery systems, tumor-targeted therapies, and tissue engineering, delivered an inspiring speech to the students.
Following this, Yıldız Technical University Chemistry Department faculty member Prof. Dr. Sezgin Bakırdere met with the audience with a presentation detailing his innovative methods for determining heavy metals in environmental and biological samples. Known for his national and international achievements, Bakırdere offered valuable insights for young researchers.
As part of the program, plaques were presented to both speakers. The faculty's scientific achievements were also highlighted at the event. The project, led by faculty member Dr. Aybeniz Yıldırım and awarded support under the TÜBİTAK 1001 program, became a source of pride for the Faculty of Pharmacy as the first 1001 project to receive a TÜBİTAK grant.
The event also honored 14 student project teams that qualified for support under the TÜBİTAK 2209-A University Student Research Projects Support Program. This achievement, which placed the university third in Turkey, was seen as a positive indicator of students embracing a research culture at an early age. Certificates of appreciation were presented to the project teams and advisors.
At the end of the event, thanks were extended to the 23rd Region Elazığ Chamber of Pharmacists, Berko Pharmaceuticals, Selçuk Pharmaceutical Warehouse, and Bilim Laboratory Equipment for their contributions to the May 14th events. Career Day, which was recognized as an inspiring day for young people who will shape the future of the pharmacy profession, received high marks from the participants.
We would like to thank our valued professors for their contributions and our stakeholders for their support.
