Fırat University's Faculty of Pharmacy celebrated May 14th Pharmacy Day and the White Coat Ceremony with a program rich in academic and professional content. This special event, which coincided with the university's 50th anniversary, attracted a wide range of participants, from academics and industry representatives to students, parents, and members of the public.

The event began with a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem, followed by a musical performance by members of the Fırat University State Conservatory. A promotional video for the Faculty of Pharmacy was also shown.

In her opening remarks, Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Seval Yılmaz highlighted the role of pharmacy in public health and emphasized the ethical and scientific foundations of the profession. Pharmacist Uğur Çelik, President of the Elazığ Pharmacists' Chamber of the 23rd Region of the Turkish Pharmacists' Association, and Fırat University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. İrfan Kaygusuz also spoke on the meaning and significance of the day.

Prof. Dr. Sibel Ayşıl Özkan, a faculty member at Ankara University's Faculty of Pharmacy and the Turkish representative to the European Pharmacopoeia, gave a compelling presentation on the current and future of academic pharmacy. Following her presentation, she was presented with a plaque.

The results of the second annual Pharmaceutical Botany Poster Competition were also announced as part of the event. The student group consisting of Elifsu Çamlı, Buket Yılmaz, Irmak Köksaldı, and Baran Aslan, who participated in the competition with poster number 9, won first place.

One of the most meaningful moments of the ceremony was when pharmacy students donned their white coats, taking their first steps into their professions. They were presented with their white coats by academics and members of the public.
